How you can help us
The primary method for achieving the mission of Ames Sustainable Neighborhoods is
to bring people and resources together. Please consider whether you, or an organization
you belong to, might be able to contribute to the stability of core neighborhoods.
Possible forms of assistance include:
- Labor for property rehabilitation
- Financial sponsorship for property rehabilitation or homebuyer assistance
- Technical or professional assistance for:
- property rehabilitation
- property inspection and assessment
- real estate transactions
- mortgage loan facilitation
- grant writing
- Identifying potential homebuyers
- Advocacy in support of protecting stability of core neighborhoods
If you live in a core neighborhood, encourage your neighborhood organization to
work with us to reach potential home buyers.
If you are an employer, let us know of people who want to purchase homes in core
neighborhoods.
We will work with the City of Ames and local housing organizations to take advantage
of existing programs and help match buyers to homes in core neighborhoods.
